Province of Ontario specific workshops:
All programs may introduce accessibility products that aid in communication
with the deaf, deafened or with a hearing loss, blind or with a vision loss.
The technological and other methods we use will result in full service to
your clients and future clients.
Note: Accommodation for people with disabilities supplied
upon identification. ASL interpreters may be supplied at an additional cost.
Note: Simulcasts to other destinations are allowed if prearranged
at an additional cost of $25 and up, per participant dependant on course
offered in other locations. No cameras, video or audio equipment allowed.
Customized Ontario Workshops:
2 Hour Session: Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Training
$1,000 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied is 60.
This workshop meets compliance with the AODA and Customer Service Standards.
A clear overview of the legislation, compliance with the AODA and Federal
mandated obligations to people with disabilities will be presented. This
session will focus on the legal requirements of the AODA. This discussion
will include information on interacting with people with disabilities, appropriate
language, legal disability terms and definitions. The session will aid the
attendees to identify practice, policy and procedure.
General or Custom Workshops:
1.5 Hour Session: Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Training
For Staff with limited customer service interaction
$1,000 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied is 60.
This workshop meets compliance with the AODA and Customer Service Standards. A general training on the AODA and Customer Service Standards is provided. This discussion will include information on interacting with people with disabilities, appropriate language, legal disability terms and definitions. The session will aid the attendees to understand practice, policy and procedure.
3.5 Hour Session: Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
and Accessibility Standards and Customer Service Training
For Management and Frontline staff
$1,250 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied (max. 20).
This workshop meets compliance with the AODA and Customer Service Standards.
This workshop is specific to aid staff in understanding ‘how to’ provide
customer service to people with disabilities. A clear overview of the legislation,
compliance with the AODA and Federal mandated obligations to people with
disabilities will be presented. A briefing on the global initiative will
aid in the attendees understanding of the reasoning that led to this legislation.
This session will focus on the legal requirements of the AODA. The discussion
will include information on interacting with people with disabilities, appropriate
language, legal disability terms and definitions. This course will introduce
the attendee to the concept of low cost/minimum cost initiatives. The session
will aid the attendees to identify practice, policy and procedure. The additional
time and smaller workshop will allow for audience interaction to aid in
practical methods to meet the legal obligations of the AODA.
Attendees are invited to present practical issues and perform interactive
exercises with the trainer.
Accessibility Standards for Customer Service:
Training on Identifying Practice, Policy and Procedures for Employees or
Proprietors responsible for providing written policies and procedures
$2,000 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants is fifteen
This workshop will be a guide to implement the Customer Service Standards. This is an interactive workshop that helps attendees to begin the process of identifying existing practices and begin to write a policy to make changes in procedures. You will identify changes required by your organization, reporting procedures and practical timelines to meet compliance. The trainer will facilitate in identifying low cost solutions that can be easily remedied. You will identify what your organization will prioritize in order to avoid future penalties.
1.5 Hour Session: Understanding the Proposed Employment Standard in the
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
$1,000 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied is 60.
Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the proposed Employment Accessibility Standard is in final stages of review by the Province. This standard consistently refers to the Proposed Accessible Information and Communication Standards, also in final stages of review. In addition, the proposed Employment Accessibility Standard refers to the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service that is law since 2008.
The future Employment Accessibility Standard affects people with disabilities and employers in Ontario. Everyone benefits from a barrier free society. This conversation will educate the audience to the needs of people with disabilities in order to achieve inclusion. All organizations with paid employees, excluding sole family enterprises, will be obligated to meet the final proposed employment standard.
So, what does this mean for professionals? From the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service point of view, as law, this means that accessibility is no longer a ‘maybe’ but a ‘when’ does everyone need to comply. This discussion will focus on the proposed Employment Accessibility Standard with reference to companion Standards. This workshop meets compliance with the AODA.
1.5 Hour Session: Understanding the Proposed Built Environment Standards
in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
$1,000 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied is 60.
The future Built Environment Standards will impact everyone in Ontario. What might you do to comply with these standards and how will you benefit? Some changes are not costly and equate to increases in revenue. This course will help you adapt with the knowledge that everyone can benefit from a barrier-free society. This is an intensive review of how global communities, entrepreneurs and consumers have approached this topic. The trainer will facilitate in identifying low cost solutions that can be easily remedied. A general analysis of the proposed Standard will aid everyone to begin identifying their practice, policy and procedure.
2 Hour Session: Understanding Public Education in the Accessibility for
Ontarians with Disabilities Act: A Sensitivity Awareness Program
$900 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)
Maximum number of participants if room is supplied is 20.
Public education concerning people with disabilities is a province-wide
mandate. This interactive training program will help you understand how
to include people with disabilities. What can you change to help yourself
and others? Many changes are attitudinal. Enter with an open mind and be
prepared to learn in this interactive program. This course will educate
the attendee to understand that everyone can benefit from a barrier-free
society. Props to participate: oven mitts, blindfold, earplugs.
The interactive portion is optional and the trainer will not be held responsible
for any liabilities (although none are foreseen).

$2,500 per session (plus travel expenses and time where
applicable)

This workshop meets compliance with the AODA and Customer Service Standards. A clear overview of the legislation, compliance with the AODA and Federal mandated obligations to people with disabilities will be presented. The one day workshop will train the attendee on existing laws and proposed standards. This will enable the client to appropriately prepare for a barrier free society legislated by the Government of Ontario for the year 2025. Leaders will be able to plan accordingly and perhaps increase revenues once accessibility has been achieved.
